The talent search competitions held by Labour India which inspired the students, as well as the public, came to an end with the splendid function on 6 January 2007. The 14 children who represented the 14 districts in Kerala proved temselves to be competent enough to meet any challenge. The fest, with the intellectual lustre of the participants and the inimitable style of presentation, gained the deserving attention. The competition was held in five rounds- the Login round; Media impact round; Smart & bold round, Feel and win round and the Fast track round. The swing of scores after each round made the audience brim over with excitement. At the end of the neck and neck race, Ms Rinu Sebastian, the class X student of C.C. P.L. M. Anglo-Indian High School, Thevara, Ernakulam won the first place. Master Rajeev. S, the class X student, B.E.M. Higher Secondary School, Palakkad and Ms Gayatri Krishnan, the Class X student of Mount Carmel H.S. School, Kottayam won the 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Dr Ruble Raj, the famous Quiz Master in T.V. programmes, coordinated the competition.

The inaugural function started at 9.30 am in the Labour India Educational Research Centre.

Prof. S. Sivadas, Chief Editor, in his unique manner, welcomed the gathering. He opined that the function was a ceremonious gathering of real intellectuals. The function was inaugurated by Sri. V.J. George Kulangara, the Chairman of the Labour India Group. He emphasised the fact that education which upholds values is the essential thing of modern times. Sri. Santhosh George Kulangara, the Managing Director, presided over the function. Sri. M.J. Baby, Chief Editor, conveyed felicitations.

Sri. Ezhacheri Ramachandran, the well-known Malayalam poet gave away the prizes. He said that information Technology can achieve its goal only when one has a real awareness of one's motherland. He indicated the importance of including our tradition and culture in our curriculum. He explained the advantages of the Gurukula system of education.

Mr. Santhosh George Kulangara honoured Dr. M. Leelavathy, the boon to Malayalam literature, by honouring her with a ponnada and a memento. In her reply, Dr. M. Leelavathy said that unpredicted developments are taking place in the field of Information Technology. We are fortunate as we too are small links in that great process of development. She requested everyone to acquire the maximum knowledge in the short span of our life. Sri. Santhosh George Kulangara presided over the valedictory function. Sri. Rajesh George Kulangara welcomed the gathering and Sri. A.U. Rathish Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
